Review of Nine Lives Cat Cafe

You never know what awaits you at a cat cafe.

It’s part of what makes this project of mine endlessly interesting. No two cat cafes are alike and no visit is the same.

The unexpected bonus of my time spent at Nine Lives Indy was twofold: 1) the people were very kind and 2) the cats were extremely photogenic.

Located in the cool neighborhood of Fountain Square, Nine Lives has been open since January, 2017. We had a great conversation with the friendly staff and discovered that via shelter partner Humane Society of Indianapolis, they have found forever homes for over 400 cats. The day we visited, 15 cats were in residence and every last one of them was a supermodel. We hit the jackpot with our photos, including this provocative, yet hilarious posture by Polka Dot. #drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls

I usually have a favorite cat or two when visited a cafe, but on this particular day, I fell in love over and over. Besides Polka Dot, there was polydactyl Frank, big boy tabby Magnus, dilute calico Feather and sweet gray and white Salina. They offered up pose after fabulous pose!

The cafe itself is lovely. Comfortable and welcoming, the lighting is great and the music soft and soothing music. It is also is exceptionally clean, which should be recognized as a cafe must work very hard to open for 2.5 years and still smell as fresh as a daisy.

With all that is on offer, from the sweet kitties and lovely environment, to the fantastic coffee and super friendly staff, a visit to Nine Lives is absolutely worth it- no unexpected surprises!
