Two is Enough:  Review of Cafe Schnurrke

Cafe Schnurrke is proof that two cats are enough to make a cat cafe.

On occasion, small numbers can be disappointing, but not here.  Millie and Merlin have enough personality (and energy!) to fill this sweet cafe with plenty of kitty atmosphere.

About a 15-20 minute walk from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and Cologne Cathedral, the cafe had just opened when we arrived and the place was empty except for the two resident felines, who were in the midst of rambunctious playtime.  Lucky us!

We ordered caprese sandwiches and lattes (18.20 EUR/$21.71 USD) from the friendly manager of this vegetarian restaurant/cat cafe who filled us in on the history of the tuxedo cats, who came to Germany by way of Russia.  Talk about international cat rescue!

We spent over an hour relaxing in this clean, cozy and lovely space.  Our sandwiches and coffee were both delicious and combined with the entertaining kitties, Cafe Schnurrke is a can't-miss cat cafe when visiting Cologne.
